About The Platform:

The JanjevaTourism platform was developed by EC Ma Ndryshe (EC) to provide practical data and orientation for local and foreign tourists. As a result, it aims as well as represents another effort from EC to promote the cultural and natural tourism of Kosovo, as one of the main potential sources for the country’s economic development. The idea to create this platform also came from EC’s engagements and research so far in the field of tourism, which have proven the need for greater promotion of cultural and natural assets in the country.

JanjevaTourism was created with a predetermined methodology. To ensure the provision of accurate and credible information, the data was collected directly from the field, in which case more than 60 points/locations were visited. For even greater security, the collected information has also been verified by the responsible institutions (official documents of the responsible institutions). In addition to accuracy, the application of this methodology has enabled direct contact and capacity building of the engaged team.

The platform provides information such as location, location category, protection status, marking, infrastructure, use, orientation to the location via Google Maps (Get Directions), and longitude and latitude for each mapped point. The data of registered locations are divided into three main categories: cultural assets, natural assets, and services. Currently, the platform contains data on the locations of all the communities of Janjevo.

Although the main purpose of the platform is to inform local and foreign visitors, its development should also be seen as a contribution to education and protection of assets as well as the promotion of engagement and institutional discourse and the public in general on the opportunities, potentials and the need for development and further promotion of tourism in Kosovo.
