In the framework of the “Mapping Rural Tourism in Janjevo” project, training for the local guides was carried out. The purpose of the training was to develop the ability of the participants to know about the potential of the settlement of (Janjevë/Janjevo) and its promotion. The training lasted 8 days, with 12 participants consisting of girls and boys from different communities in (Janjevë/Janjevo) (Albanian, Croatian, Turkish, and Roma).
During the training, the participants received essential knowledge in theory and practice about the role and responsibilities of the tourist guide, as well as the first aid provided by the Red Cross.
During the training, the participants learned in theory and practice the following topics: Concepts and types of tourist guides, Professional behavior and ethics of tourist guides, Itinerary/tourist path, Information regarding the Kosovo cultural heritage, Information regarding the Kosovo tourism law context, Research techniques for the update of the information for tourism in (Janjevë/Janjevo), Employment opportunities through tourism/tourism business, Networking and promotion of the profile of tourist guides in the Kosovo market, Practical hours in (Janjevë/Janjevo) as a tourist guide and site visit outside (Janjevë/Janjevo). The theoretical part of the training was held on the premises of the “Shtjefën Gjeçovi” school in (Janjevë/Janjevo), while the practical part was realized/practiced in (Janjevë/Janjevo), (Prishtinë/Priština), (Novobërdë/Novo Brdo), Prizren, (Dranoc/Drenovac) and (Gjakovë/Djakovica). As a result of the training, we have certified 12 participants who have basic knowledge, and if you have decided to visit (Janjevë/Janjevo) then you can always contact the people following the order in this list.
